301 Full Hard Fatigue Resistant Stainless Steel Product Guide
301 Full Hard Shim Stock is an austenitic stainless steel with a composition of 17% chromium and 7% nickel. Its combination of hardness and toughness, resistance to atmosphere corrosion and its bright surface finish make it an excellent choice for anything from aerospace applications to decorative structural components. 301 Full Hard Stainless Steel is resistant to fatigue and a variety of corrosive media. However, the corrosion properties are not as good as 302/304 (18-8 chromium-nickel) stainless steel. Its susceptibility to carbide precipitation during welding restricts its use in some applications.

316/316L Annealed Stainless Steel Shim Stock Product Guide
316/316L Annealed Stainless Steel is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel containing molybdenum which increases general corrosion resistance, improves resistance to pitting from chloride ion solutions, and provides increased strength at elevated temperatures. This austenitic class contains the most formable, weldable, and corrosion-resistant stainless steel grades, but they cannot be heat treated. Properties are similar to those of Type 304 except that this alloy is somewhat stronger at elevated temperatures. Corrosion resistance is improved, particularly against sulfuric, hydrochloric, acetic, formic, and tartaric acids; acid sulfates, and alkaline chlorides. Type 316L is an extra-low carbon version of Type 316 that minimizes harmful carbide precipitation due to welding assuring optimum corrosion resistance.

17-4 PH Annealed Stainless Steel Shim Stock Product Guide
17-4 PH (Precipitation Hardening) stainless steel is an alloy with excellent fatigue properties, corrosion resistance and formability while providing high strength and hardness. Upon heat treating this alloy will have minimal distortion. The corrosion resistance of 17-4 alloy is superior to that of the hardenable 400 series stainless steel. In high-heat treated conditions, 17-4 PH stainless steel possesses excellent mechanical properties at temperatures up to 600° F (316ºC). This alloy is well suited for aerospace applications.

430 Annealed Stainless Steel Shim Stock Product Guide
430 Annealed Stainless Steel is the most popular of all the straight chrome stainless. It is a low carbon ferritic stainless steel which, in mildly corrosive environments or atmospheric exposures, has corrosion resistance approaching that of some nickelbearing stainless steels. This alloy is oxidation resistant at elevated temperatures. 430 Annealed is ductile, does not work harden readily, and can be formed using a variety of roll forming or mild stretch bending operations as well as the more common drawing and bending processes. This Stainless Steel is also magnetic in all conditions.

260 Half Hard Brass Adhesive Backed Shim Stock Product Guide
Each piece has a 3M adhesive peel off backing that keeps shim in place.
Brass 260 Half Hard Shim Stock is the most ductile of the brasses and is used in greater quantity than any other copper-zinc alloy. This alloy offers low magnetic permeability and is used in applications where corrosion problems exist. Brass 260 can be blanked, stamped, or lightly drawn due to its superb forming qualities. This Brass forms a natural thin protective layer and will not corrode when exposed to the environment. Brass 260 should not be used in projects where it will come into contact with acetic acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, or ammonia. Due to the high zinc contact, it shouldn’t be soldered.

Titanium Grade 2 Annealed Shim Stock Product Guide
Titanium Grade 2 low density and high strength-to-weight ratio makes it the material of choice for many corrosive chemical environments, including oxidizing chloride solutions (including seawater) and chlorine-based bleaches. Commercially Pure Grade 2 Titanium is the “workhorse” of the commercially pure Titanium grades. It is slightly stronger than Grade 1, but equally as corrosion resistant in a wide variety of environments.

Perfect Punch and Die Set Imperial/Metric Product Guide
Our newly designed and patented, Perfect Punch and Die Set comes from extensive surveys with Tool & Die Makers and Machinists who use this type of product. They suggested that the punching surface be enlarged to accommodate larger shims and gaskets. Also, they asked that the smaller, most used punches be at the front of the set to allow maximum use of the surface area. Our new design offers those changes as well as other distinct advantages over any other Punch & Die Set on the market.
Advantages:
Ready to Use Out of The Box – the accuracy you expect when purchasing a quality tool. No need to “size” each hole before using the TBI Perfect Punch & Die Set (Other sets require you to punch thru the plastic several times to align the holes. This process could crack the plastic before your set is ready to use). All of our sets are tested at the factory to insure perfect alignment.
25% Larger Surface Area – in fact our 4-3/8″ x 3″ surface allows you to punch a 1/4″ hole up to 3-3/8″ from the edge of a shim or gasket. All other sets are limited to less than 3/4″ from the edge for the same size hole!
More Stability – larger punches are located closer to the center of the die for greater stability when more force is needed to punch the larger holes.
Heavier Cast Acrylic Top – our plastic acrylic top is made from extra heavy cast acrylic material (25% thicker than any other punch & die set). This will ensure an accurate line for the punch and helps eliminate cracking and breakage.
Heavy Duty Carrying Case – protects your punches from nicks while keeping your set secure in this sturdy carrying case.
Trinity brand industries punch & die sets are offered in both English and Metric.
